Ana Mendieta (1948–1985) fue una artista conceptual cubano-estadounidense cuya práctica se inscribe en el land art, la performance y el arte “earth-body”. Su obra explora la relación entre cuerpo, territorio, memoria y desplazamiento, a través de acciones efímeras en naturaleza y registros fotográficos. Vinculada al pensamiento feminista, integró ritual, santería y elementos orgánicos. Su trabajo redefine la presencia del cuerpo como huella, ausencia y retorno en el paisaje.

Ana Mendieta (1948–1985) was a Cuban-American conceptual artist whose practice spans land art, performance, and “earth-body” art. Her work explores the relationship between body, territory, memory, and displacement through ephemeral actions in nature and photographic documentation. Connected to feminist discourse, she incorporated ritual, Santería, and organic materials. Her practice redefines the body as trace, absence, and return within the landscape, situating presence as both material and symbolic.
