Bernd y Hilla Becher (1931–2007, 1934–2015) fueron fotógrafos alemanes cuya obra sistemática documenta arquitecturas industriales mediante series tipológicas que comparan forma, estructura y variación. Conocidos por su mirada rigurosa y objetiva, desarrollaron un lenguaje visual de gran influencia en la fotografía contemporánea. Se conocieron en la Universidad de Düsseldorf como estudiantes de pintura y se casaron en 1961. En 1964 nació su hijo Max Becher, también fotógrafo de referencia internacional.
Bernd and Hilla Becher (1931–2007, 1934–2015) were German photographers known for systematically documenting industrial architecture through typological series comparing form, structure and variation. Their rigorous, objective gaze established a visual language that deeply influenced contemporary photography. They met as painting students at the University of Düsseldorf and married in 1961. In 1964 their son Max Becher, also a photographer, was born becoming a key reference in photographic history and theory.
