Juan Baños es un artista interdisciplinar y educador español cuya práctica se sitúa entre la pintura y la instalación de gran formato. Formado en Bellas Artes en la Universidad de Granada y con un MFA por la University of Illinois Chicago, desarrolla una obra que investiga la tensión entre lo cotidiano y lo intemporal, explorando el miedo, los paisajes interiores y la energía de los cuerpos y los objetos.
Su trabajo, exhibido internacionalmente y presente en diversas colecciones, evoluciona hacia composiciones donde pintura y sistemas robóticos sugieren formas de vida artificial. Actualmente reside en Chicago, donde combina su práctica artística con la docencia universitaria en pintura y dibujo.
Juan Baños is an interdisciplinary artist and educator from Spain whose practice moves between painting and large-scale installation. Trained in Fine Arts at the University of Granada and holding an MFA from the University of Illinois Chicago, his work explores the tension between the everyday and the timeless, addressing fear, inner landscapes, and the energy of bodies and objects.
His work, exhibited internationally and included in numerous collections, increasingly incorporates compositions where painting and robotic systems suggest forms of artificial life. He is currently based in Chicago, where he teaches painting and drawing at university level.
