Pilar Aymerich se forma en dirección teatral en la Escuela de Arte Dramático Adrià Gual y en teoría y prácticas fotográficas en los Estudios Raphael en Francia. A partir de 1965 desarrolla su actividad en Londres y, en 1968, se establece en Barcelona como fotógrafa profesional, donde colabora con numerosas publicaciones como Serra d’Or, Destino, Triunfo, El País o Fotogramas, consolidando una práctica centrada en el retrato, el reportaje social y el teatro.
Desde los años setenta amplía su labor hacia los medios audiovisuales en Televisión Española y combina la producción fotográfica con la docencia en instituciones como el Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya. Su trayectoria se extiende también al ámbito profesional y asociativo, como miembro de la UPIFC y del Colegio de Periodistas de Catalunya, contribuyendo activamente a la defensa de la profesión fotográfica.
Pilar Aymerich trained in theatre directing at the Adrià Gual School of Dramatic Arts and in photographic theory and practice at the Studios Raphael in France. From 1965 she worked in London, and in 1968 she established herself in Barcelona as a professional photographer, collaborating with publications such as Serra d’Or, Destino, Triunfo, El País, and Fotogramas, developing a practice focused on portraiture, social reportage, and theatre.
From the 1970s onward, she expanded into audiovisual media with Televisión Española and combined photographic production with teaching at institutions such as the Institut d’Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya. Her career also includes professional and institutional engagement as a member of UPIFC and the College of Journalists of Catalonia, actively contributing to the field of photography.
