Widline Cadet (Port-au-Prince, 1992) es una artista visual haitiana cuya práctica se despliega principalmente en la fotografía, expandida hacia el video, el sonido, la escultura, la performance y la instalación. Su obra articula una investigación poética y crítica en torno a la experiencia migratoria, la memoria y la construcción de la identidad desde el desplazamiento.
Formada en el City College of New York y con un MFA por la Universidad de Syracuse, ha desarrollado una sólida trayectoria de residencias y becas en instituciones como Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture y el Studio Museum de Harlem. Su trabajo ha sido expuesto internacionalmente y forma parte de diversas colecciones públicas y privadas.
En proyectos como Take this with you, presentados en PhotoEspaña, Widline Cadet aborda la distancia con el país de origen a través de archivos familiares y fragmentos de memoria, construyendo un lenguaje visual que entrelaza intimidad, exilio y pertenencia.
Widline Cadet (Port-au-Prince, 1992) is a Haitian visual artist whose practice is primarily rooted in photography, expanding into video, sound, sculpture, performance, and installation. Her work engages with migration, memory, and identity as shaped by displacement, developing a poetic and critical visual language.
She holds a BFA from City College of New York and an MFA from Syracuse University, and has completed residencies and fellowships at institutions including the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and the Studio Museum in Harlem. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is included in numerous public and private collections.
