Cayetana Llopis Álvarez pays tribute to the concept of the decisive instant coined by Henri Cartier-Bresson with the desire to expand its possibilities of appreciation and assimilation. Based on the peculiar link that photography establishes with time and the camera’s capacity to fix moments, the artist compiles photographs taken with black and white film that immortalize subtle and poetic decisive instants.

With the intention of broadening the horizons of the concept, the author uses a rigorous selection of other people’s literary writings, and thus, each photograph dialogues with a fragment of text in which a decisive instant is also immortalized. This link arises from the natural attention to the calls of desire of union between each image and a certain fragment of text, thus enriching the existential power of the instants.
