SINK / RISE es el tercer capítulo de The Day May Break, una serie en curso del fotógrafo y cofundador de la Fundación Big Life, Nick Brandt, que retrata a personas y animales afectados por la degradación y destrucción del medio ambiente en diferentes lugares del mundo. Este tercer capítulo se centra en los habitantes de las islas del Pacífico Sur afectados por la crecida de los océanos provocada por el cambio climático. Los habitantes locales de estas fotos, todos y cada uno de ellos fotografiados bajo el agua frente a la costa de las islas Fiyi, representan a las muchas personas cuyos hogares, tierras y medios de subsistencia se perderán en las próximas décadas a medida que el agua suba.
SINK / RISE is the third chapter in The Day May Break, an ongoing series by the photographer and co-founder of the Big Life Foundation, Nick Brandt, who takes portraits of people and animals affected by environmental degradation and destruction in different places in the world. This third chapter focuses on the inhabitants of the South Pacific islands affected by the rising oceans caused by climate change. The local inhabitants in these photos, each of them snapped underwater off the coast of the Fiji Islands, represent the many people whose homes, lands and means of subsistence will be lost in the forthcoming decades as water levels rise.
