Raphaëlle Peria, graduada en 2014 en la École Européenne Supérieure d’Art de Bretagne, desarrolla una práctica singular de dibujo por sustracción que redefine los límites entre fotografía, materia y memoria. Partiendo de imágenes fotográficas, interviene la superficie mediante un gesto preciso y casi quirúrgico —utilizando bisturí o herramientas dentales— con el que retira capas del soporte hasta hacer emerger el blanco subyacente.

Este proceso no se plantea como un acto destructivo, sino como una operación de revelado: la imagen se abre como un territorio latente donde formas, texturas y presencias ocultas adquieren una nueva legibilidad. Sus paisajes dejan de ser representaciones para convertirse en espacios mentales, fragmentos del mundo que han sido extraídos de lo real y reconfigurados por la acción manual.

Su trabajo ha sido expuesto en instituciones como el Frac Picardie, el Domaine Pommery o el Musée des Beaux-Arts de Vannes, así como en el Sungkok Art Museum de Seúl. En 2025 recibe el BMW Art Makers Prize junto a Fanny Robin. Representada por la Galerie Papillon de París, su obra forma parte de importantes colecciones públicas en Francia.

Raphaëlle Peria, who graduated in 2014 from the École Européenne Supérieure d’Art de Bretagne, has developed a singular practice of subtractive drawing that redefines the relationship between photography, materiality, and memory. Starting from photographic images, she intervenes on the surface with a precise, almost surgical gesture—using scalpels or dental tools—to remove layers of the support and reveal the underlying white ground.

This process is not conceived as an act of destruction but as one of revelation: the image unfolds as a latent territory where hidden forms, textures, and presences emerge into new visibility. Her landscapes cease to function as representations and instead become mental spaces, fragments of the world extracted from reality and reconfigured through manual intervention.

Her work has been exhibited in institutions such as the Frac Picardie, Domaine Pommery, and the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Vannes, as well as the Sungkok Art Museum in Seoul. In 2025 she received the BMW Art Makers Prize alongside Fanny Robin. Represented by Galerie Papillon in Paris, her work is included in major French public collections.
