Rafał Milach es artista visual, fotógrafo y docente, cuya práctica se articula en torno a la tensión entre la sociedad contemporánea y las estructuras de poder que la configuran. Su trabajo investiga los mecanismos de control estatal, la construcción de narrativas oficiales y las formas de resistencia visual, desarrollando proyectos que combinan fotografía, libro de artista y publicación crítica.

Profesor en la Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School de la Universidad de Silesia en Katowice, Milach ha recibido becas de instituciones como el Ministerio de Cultura de Polonia, la Magnum Foundation y la European Cultural Foundation. Rafał Milach is a visual artist, photographer, and educator whose practice is grounded in the tension between contemporary society and the structures of power that shape it. His work investigates mechanisms of state control, the construction of official narratives, and forms of visual resistance, developing projects that combine photography, artist books, and critical publishing.

He is a professor at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. Milach has received grants from institutions including the Polish Ministry of Culture, the Magnum Foundation, and the European Cultural Foundation. His career has been recognized with numerous international awards, including World Press Photo, the Rencontres d’Arles Author Book Award, and a nomination for the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize.

He is a co-founder of Sputnik Photos and the Archive of Public Protests, initiatives that extend his research into collaborative and politically engaged practices.
